ArcaOS 5.0.2 auf Thinkpad T440p

Hallo ArcaOS-Freunde,

seit wenigen Tagen bin ich nun im Besitz eines Thinkpad T440p. Die Installation von ArcaOS 5.0.2 klappte ohne Probleme. Sound und WLAN funktionieren wie erwartet nicht. Die Updates mittels Arca Noae Package Manager liefen aber problemlos durch.

Das einzige echte Problem ist die Bildschirmhelligkeit. Diese kann ich leider nicht ändern. Die Fn-Tasten führen in ArcaOS zu keiner Reaktion. Die Hardware selbst ist definitiv in Ordnung. Wenn ich ein Linux Mint starte, lässt sich die Helligkeit mittels Fn-Tasten regulieren.

Hat jemand eine Idee? Das gute alte "On Screen Display Utility" von Jan van Wijk funktioniert leider beim T440p nicht.

Jan his tool is not going to work, it depends on the BIOS. The only way to change the brightness to try and change the brightness when before ArcaOS is loaded (BIOS screen is displayed). But the keys might not even work anymore. Some of the older laptops have this functionality build in the BIOS. But when ACPI.PSD loads these options get disabled.

At Warpstock Europe in Berlin David from Arca Noae LLC explained the following this switch might work. The INF file explains the following:

/NOACPI Prevents the PSD from enabling some ACPI services. This switch is experimental.

WARNING: There is absolutely NO SUPPORT for the use of this switch. Your use of this switch is completely at your own risk. There is no guarantee that it will work, or that your system will even run when using this switch. There is no support for anything for any reason if you use this switch. If you are using this switch and you open a ticket, you may need to remove the switch and retest before you can get support.

Before you use this switch behind psd=acpi.psd make certain you can boot from DVD to take the switch out the config.sys.

Für Sound würde ich, wenn noch nicht geschehen, den neuesten UNIAUD, vermutlich in ArcaOS 5.02 schon enthalten, mit den Schaltern /A:0 oder /A:1 versuchen. Bei meinem ThinkPad 25 funktioniert der Schalter /A:0 zumindest soweit, dass ich Musik hören kann. Bei Videos klappt das Timing nicht.

Thanks for the info about the /NOACPI switch. Unfortunately, this does not work with the T440p. With /NOACPI behind psd=acpi.psd I still cannot adjust the brightness of the display.

Sound funktioniert bei mir weder mit dem Schalter /A:0 noch mit /A:1. Trotzdem danke für den Hinweis.
